Some of these sporting pigeons are trained in high flying also. Even today, Sport of pigeon racing is conducted in different parts of the world.
Some breeds of pigeons like Jacobins, Fantails and Pigmy are known as fantacy pigeons. They are used in ehibitions and festival because of their peculiar appearance. Fancy breeds are in different colors and shapes.
Utility pigeons are the most common types of pigeon. They are used for its meet and as replacement breeding stock.
